National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci said US testing capacity for COVID-19 averages between 1.5 million to 2 million tests a week, and he believes the US will be able to double this capacity in the coming weeks. Fauci said that as the US eases restrictions, contact tracing will also be important, and as testing becomes widespread, positive results should account for fewer than 10% of all tests administered — more than that suggests too few people are being tested.
